Platts & Nisbett is pleased to be working with the International Children’s Heart Foundation to supply specialist cardiovascular instrumentation. Our Company was chosen by the charity as they required a specialist piece of cardiac kit for an upcoming medical mission trip.

The charity was set up in 1994 to deliver the skills and technologies needed to treat children with congenital heart disease in developing countries around the world. As one percent of the world’s population is born with heart disease this makes it the most common birth defect. Many congenital heart defects can be repaired with one surgical intervention, but some require staged repairs. The developed countries of the world have hundreds of hospitals with trained specialists to care for children with heart disease, however for children who are born in developing nations this is not the case. Over the years, its founder Dr William Novick has worked with hundreds of medical volunteers to save the lives of thousands of children living in these areas. Without the work of charities such as this, these children would not survive.
