February 2017 sees Platts & Nisbett celebrate 40 Years of British Manufacturing. In terms of our production, that’s 21,038,400 minutes and countless tonnes of Stainless Steel.

40 years in business is a genuine milestone for any Company, especially for one in a competitive and challenging manufacturing industry. As in many sectors, genuine British Manufacturers like ourselves have to compete with companies who sell lower cost/lower quality alternatives on a daily basis. The longevity of our business is testament to our Company’s commitment to quality and exceptional customer service.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our workforce. Each and every member of our apprentice trained team makes a valuable contribution every day, continuing to build our reputation for the manufacture of the finest quality surgical instruments. We continue to invest heavily in training and are always looking for skilled surgical instrument makers and engineers to join our team.

Platts & Nisbett began in 1977 by manufacturing surgical instruments for other companies in the trade. Over the last 20 years we have evolved our business, and now supply directly to retail (hospitals) as well. We now have an established customer base of Trade Companies, NHS and Private Sector Hospitals, and in addition have developed an Export Portfolio and Distributor Network overseas.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our trade and retail customers for their business over the last four decades. From loyal customers who have bought Platts & Nisbett Surgical Instruments since 1977, through to ones who have built new relationships with us in recent times, we look forward to many more successful years of business ahead.
